Jaguar S-type subframe overhauled

Thanks to to the assistance of some very kind associates/friends I've been able to finish off the work on my Jaguar X200 rear subframe. It all went together easily and putting it back in the car was straightforward as I already had most of the parts lined up. A set of black coated rear discs & Mintex pads have been fitted and I took the old struts with new springs and Bilstein shocks, along with new spring insulators, to Billy Smith in Galgate, he did all the heavy lifting changing them over. As I was in need of new tyres at the back I decided to have the wheels restored, the people that did the custom paint just rattle canned the alloys and I wanted to treat myself. Steve & David at KLS, also in Galgate, have done a beautiful job, I couldn't be happier with the colour and finish and they turned them around in only a few days. And they didn't laugh at me when I said I wanted orange, then again they know the car they were going on. That just left the exhaust system, I found an original centre section on a popular auction site and the vendor had a new old stock left side back box and a matching but not quite so new one for the right. I bought the lot and fitted it on Monday, it's probably half the weight of custom system, the only downside is that the hooligan has totally gone out of it. Oh well, I suppose I've got to grow up sooner or later.

So delighted to see that the Jag is still on the road and is getting loved. We are the ones who turned her from plain blue to fiery fun...

Thanks for commenting Jim. I spent more on fixing it recently than I spent on buying it and maintaining it all these years but I do love it and it's a keeper. I don't suppose you guys would be interested in repainting the front bumper? It took a knock years ago and all the paint popped off in the left corner. I can't imagine trying to find someone else to do it.
