Mustang engine progresses

It's taken a little longer than I'd hoped to get the Mustang engine to this stage. It was all going well until I tried to fit the new roller rockers. I'd replaced the rocker pedestal studs with screw in type as some of the originals were worn, with the help of my trusty engine shop, but when the rockers were installed with the original pushrods the action point on the top of the valve was way out. That meant heads off and back to the machine shop to have the rocker pedestal bosses cut down by 6mm, then back on the engine and set up with an adjustable pushrod to get the correct length for the new pushrod set. With this done I could get the top end pretty much finished, only the valve covers to fit before I can put it back in the car. I had the sump powder coated, that came back today which meant I could fit it and fill it and spin the oil pump to charge the system. I might even try bunging it back in tomorrow.
