After several discussions with the owner and in the interest of thoroughness I have taken the engine out of the Lancia Augusta so it can be totally gone through. The cylinder head has already been removed, stripped down, skimmed and the valves have been checked & lapped in. I've also had the head sealed by Impregnation Services to make sure the cast iron is totally leak proof. Once the engine is stripped down the block will go through the same process and then be re-bored and new pistons will be fitted. That should help make the engine bulletproof for the foreseeable future.
