This is a bit a treat, a very nice condition and remarkably original Quattro came in yesterday for some work. The owner told me that the front right corner was making a noise since it dropped onto the brake when a wheel recently came off, there was an annoying and persistent misfire and it was in need of new drop-links and bushings. Fitting the drop-link parts was easy enough and the noise from the front corner was down to a rather mangled brake dust shield that straightened out ok. As for the misfire, returning from a short test drive I opened the bonnet with the engine running and could see, and hear, a rather significant spark leak from one of the HT leads. A new set of leads has been ordered - it'll be nice if that cures the fault.
