This rather tidy 1974 MGB came in today for a bit of investigation into a noise that's developed over the last couple of months. There is a vibration on the overrun as the engine speed drops between 2500 and 2000 rpm, the same in all 4 gears, that goes away if the clutch pedal is depressed. First thoughts are that it is related to the first motion shaft in the gearbox, maybe the pilot bushing, main ball bearing or main shaft roller bearing, but I'm going to see if I can reproduce it on the road and then up on jacks with the road load removed.
