Rare Original Mk 1 Long Wheel Base Mini Scamp

Ideal for a private individual or business promotional vehicle.

 

This is currently the only Mk1 Long Wheel Base Mini Scamp known to survive. It can easily accommodate an additional bench seat across the rear when additional seating is required. Alternatively it can carry additional luggage or goods if used for business duties. Correctly registered with DVLA as a Mini Scamp and eligible for Historic Vehicle status to be tax and MOT exempt. Correct  “N” suffix UK registration from new in 1974. Original Scamp issued chassis number on the V5c

 

In its current ownership since 2012, the Scamp has been recently been subject to some work on the engine, cooling system, clutch, brakes & electrics. It is now ready for the next owner to take it whatever level they prefer. Currently fitted with early Wolfrace wheels.

 

The Mini Scamp is a sensible alternative to the Mini Moke. Prices of original British Mini Mokes are now very high and this Mini Scamp offers a much lower entry price and is very likely to appreciate in value. The Mini Scamp is much less prone to rust, being made from a simple tubular steel Scamp frame which has aluminium panels. It uses the front and rear mini dry sub frames with the trusted rubber cone and damper suspension. The engine is a 998cc with a single SU carb, making maintenance very simple. It's all Mini apart from the body so parts are easily available.

 

It has Scamp doors with sliding windows and these can simply be lifted off for a different look and functionality during better weather. It comes with a canvas hood.

 

The Scamp Motor Company is still able to provide owners with new frames, panels and parts where required which assists in ensuring good support for the new owner.

 

This has a V5c registration document and is now available for a new owner to enjoy, have fun and improve where desired. Export possible as it is correctly registered.
