Does anyone else hate orange silicone sealant as much as I do? I've been hanging on to the Ford Mustang I did some work on recently, the owner was picking up a pair of matching rocker covers and some gaskets whilst he was 'over there' and they were dropped off yesterday. This is what I found today when I pulled the old covers off the engine, took ages to clean off and, of course, it shouldn't have even been there - valve cover gaskets, whether cork (as now fitted) or rubber (as was), don't need any sealant, other than maybe Gasgacinch if you need to stick the gasket to the cover for ease of fitting.
