The Series 1 Jaguar XJ6 on which I recently rebuilt the engine came back in today to sort a few small jobs. The engine is running well, just a slightly fast idle and that was easy enough to knock back, but the overdrive isn't working, headlamps also inoperative and the new gearshift gaiter I got from SNG Barrett is so stiff that it prevents first and third gear being selected properly. In addition the clutch needs bleeding and the aftermarket starter motor is faulty - the solenoid clicks but it is not making the contacts all of the time.
